Peoples Park, Shopping and last full day in Nanchang Day 7

This morning we ate breakfast and attempted to get little miss down for her morning nap.  In true baby fashion she showed us that when we have no morning plans she will happily fall asleep right after breakfast, but should we plan to say, meet our guide downstairs at 10:30 she will fight a nap until 10:00!  Brandon, bless his heart battled with her as I wrote the SWI post.

Here are a couple of sweet photos from the end of Day 6 that just came off the camera.
T found mommy's hat!

After her short nap we headed to People's Park.  I feel like it is sort of like central park in NYC.  It is much smaller, but an oasis of trees and paths in the middle of a city.  I guess there is one in every province capital city.  People come to the park to walk, run, work out, dance, practice swords, play in an amusement park, sit and relax, listen to musicians perform etc. Very diverse.  It was nice to see a local special place.

The little paths around the park.

A lake at the center.
After walking around People's Park we went to a restaurant with our guide.  She ordered us a variety of dishes.  I could eat a couple of them.  It was very fun to experience local food.  Much less adventurous doing it with a guide!

Real fish at the restaurant.  Thought you would like this M!
After lunch we went shopping for porcelain.  This province is famous for porcelain china.  It seemed like the guide was saying that it all started right here... could that be?  Well, in any case we decided that T needed some from here.  You sure can spend a lot of money on this stuff!  It was really neat to see all the options.  We got her several things for through the years.  I hope that everything makes it back to the USA.  These things will be in our carry on for sure!

After shopping we walked home.  Brandon snapped a few shots of the monument at August 1st square.  We visited there the first day and took photos, but it was sunny so he wanted a better shot.  This is the huge monument in the center of the park.
Monument at August 1st square.
I wanted Brandon to take a photo of this intersection as I thought M might like to see the walkway that we had to cross so we didn't have to go in the street.  I thought others would like to see the very organized chaos of the intersection.  No one ever stops moving and it seems to work out quite well.  The traffic is not like the US for sure, but much safer and more predictable than Ethiopia.

Intersection near August 1st.
After we got back to the room it was time for T to nap.  She was falling asleep the whole walk back and we were fighting with her to keep her awake.  We got back to the room, and of course she was a ball of energy.  She never stops moving when she is awake.  Literally!  It is so fun to watch her, though I fear for my house... we have already decided she is in training to be just like M's BFF L :) Seriously, we have talked many times about needing an L bib for her :)

Do I look sleepy?

Still not sleepy!

Like my Baby Leg hat?  This is after the nap.

In the evening we decided to put her in the crib (awake) just to see what she would do.  She LOVED it! We laid her down and she immediately sat up and pulled herself to stand.  You could tell she was an expert.
I can stand very well!
She then proceeded to get into EVERYTHING she could reach.  So not like M.  We didn't photo her trying to destroy the plant (which we quickly moved) but here are some of her other discoveries.

I can close the blinds mommy!

I can try to grab the floor lamp!
I really want that phone.  How am I going to get that phone?

Yes, I will sit down that will work!

Success!  Hmmm who should I call?
It is hard to believe we are gearing up to leave Nanchang!  We have much packing to do then we get to take T on her first flight!  Hope she embraces this adventure as she does everything else!
