Fire Station Open House!!!!

Every year our local fire station and police station host a pancake breakfast and open house.  They always take place on a Sunday and we are usually melting down hard core by the time church is over so we miss out on the fun.  This year we decided to give it a try and boy did we have a great time.  The pancake breakfast was over by the time we arrived, but we got to do all of the awesome activities... and it was free!

The kids got to put out a pretend fire, play in a rescue boat, sit in a police SUV, and we all got to go up in a fire truck boom and take a tour of the neighborhood in a real firetruck.  We ended the morning with a look inside the fire station and free hats, suckers, and coloring books.  While inside the station M was ahead of us and did an excited gasp from around the corner.  He was out of control excited and wanted me to see something... any guesses?  A real... SINK in the fire station.  Yep, all the trucks and crazy cool stuff and he could not believe they had a sink in a garage.  Funny guy.  He was a little shy at first, but had a blast with everything we did.

M: I was driving a real police SUV.  I was a little nervous the sirens would go on, but they didn't.
T: I am a firefighter in training!

M: Let me just adjust this nozzle and get this fire out!
Right before I got aboard the lift truck boom
We are up HIGH!!!!
Me:  put your around around each other and smile.  M: We are!
I have friends in "high" places!  Charissa took this photo of us with the kids while she was up in the boom. What a sweet friend!

T: Don't worry, I will save you!
