Reason number 4873 that I love where we live... our local pet store also houses rescue animals and they welcome visitors... even visitors like us who don't actually have any pets!
We are often looking for fun things to do with the kids that are close to home and cheap or free. Visiting pet stores has been a fun activity for us. The kids especially like going when there is a dog training and there are a lot of dogs around. Our most local pet store is not a chain and has a wide variety of animals. Most of the animals are not for sale and are loved on by the store. Our kids were able to pet and even feed some of them. It was such a special treat for our animal loving kiddos! It was like a trip to a local free zoo!
