A tiny bit of Bethlehem

Since T's fever broke on Thursday night we knew that she was released to rejoin society on Saturday!  We decided to keep the kids home from swimming lessons so they could sleep in and start the day slowly.  We had a pretty quiet day at home and decided that everyone felt well enough to go to a nativity experience at a local church.  We started outside getting to meet a mountain camel!
T: He was pretty big!

M: I was hoping he didn't lick my head.
M and T: He sniffed our hands.

After meeting the camel we went into the church and saw a drama.  The kids got really close and got quite into it.  After the drama we got to walk around the market place and buy little trinkets with pretend money.  The apple juice was the kids favorite station.   We didn't stay too long because the kids were very eager to do crafts!

We went to a different area of the church and made crafts.  Each kid got to do 3 Oriental Trading crafts.  They loved it.  There were carolers and musicians performing in the hallway and we were feeling healthy and happy to be out among the people!
Major Crafting!

It was quite exciting for us to discover that one of T's classmates was there with his family.  They enjoyed crafting together.  We ran into many many friends while we were there!

T: We saw lots of friends that we knew!
Photo Spot!
Once the kids did their crafting they were ready to get more shekels and buy more apple juice and other goods.  We also enjoyed watching local people work with clay, weaving, basket making and more.  We were all quite therapeutically entranced by the spinning wheel pottery!
M and T: We got to grind spices.
T: This lady took clay and made a pot.

T: We could watch all day.
