Another Saturday Another Parade!

Charissa and I took the crew to a parade a couple of towns away.  This community is full of Dutch culture.  I think we are finally learning the way of the day and will be more prepared if we go next year.  The paper, the online schedule, social media etc all said the parade started at 1:00.  We arrived just before 1:00 and asked some people with a great shade tree if we could sit in their yard.  They said sure but warned us that their children had hand foot mouth.  Charissa and I did not want our crew to get that so we were very cautious to not let the kids get too close the the family.  We sat and waited patiently, then impatiently, then restlessly then we just waited and waited and waited.  Apparently the wooden shoe dancers go first and then they wash the streets downtown and then eventually the parade begins... about an hour later.  In the heat of the day with nothing to do an hour feels like about 147 to five kiddos.  Eventually the parade started.  It is actually a great parade with a lot of fun entries.  There are some fun bands and floats and the kids really did end up enjoying it.  Next time we will be much more prepared!

Doing a little waiting...

A little more waiting...

They can't resist the Pig!

They still LOVE the bubble truck!
