We made it through our first night in Ch*na. I think we both slept well, but I woke up about 4:00ish and couldn't go back to sleep. Brandon slept until after 7:00 so he is already adjusting pretty well to the time change.
Today we walked around the area. We visited a park area where children were rollerblading, flying kites, blowing bubbles, and running around. We also went to Starbuck's and picked up a cup for a friend :)
For lunch we went to KFC... I know... American food... hey we were without a guide and there is a story here. So, we walk in and are greeted by a woman saying "hello" good sign, right? There is American music playing and a sign in English that says "finger lickin good." We went up to the counter and got in line. The line wasn't really a line, but a free for all and we are not really pushy people. OK, in general I am a pushy person, but today, not so much. Eventually Brandon ordered by pointing to the photo he wanted. It was also labled "D" so he pointed to D and said D. D was a chicken sandwich with a side of plain chicken (strange) and a beverage. Well, Brandon received a kids meal of fried shrimp and a ground shrimp patty sandwich. So, not exactly what he wanted, at all, but an interesting experience. So far he seems to feel feeling fine so the bug must be gone. He did drink the Pepsi with ice so not sure if that will affect him.
When we returned from our outing there as a crib, stroller, and baby tub in our room. The time is getting closer. I have a knot in my stomach and joy in my heart.
