Cats and kids and children's ministry

We didn't spend all of our time in September outdoors.  We had lots of random fun (and plenty of work) indoors too.

This was the cats reaction to their first full day without kids!  A long nap.

You can tell who the prince is around here!

My late summer and fall included LOTS of decorating!  All of the classrooms were pretty bare bones when covid hit.  Nothing had been decorated or set up.  Many hours were spent ordering and decorating, cutting door decs ( I felt like an RA all over again) and using insane amounts of sticky tack!

I purchased a couple of cling art kits to decorate with in areas where we didn't have murals or wall art.  You can get a lot of bang for your buck.  Sometimes the murals go up quickly and easily.  The monkey one was a pretty simple project.
A cozy spot in the 3K room!

Some of the murals were NOT easy.  When you order things from overseas and there are zero reviews, you take a chance.  The finished product of the Fruit of the Spirit tree is great, but getting there was rough!  The letters did not come off of the paper and I had to peel millimeter by millimeter of each letter and then try to line it up myself.  I laughed many times as I did not feel love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, or self control as I was doing this!  The nursery was a big labor of love, but I think it turned out well.

Thankfully it is in a gated area so it can't be destroyed.
The left side.  I really love the alligator!

Part of the right side, you can sort of see the custom art for the days of creation.
All of our ministries kicked off the Sunday after Labor Day.  There was such a relief when things finally started and the prep was over and it was time to actually do the ministry!  I continue to teach my 4K/5K kids on Sunday mornings and lead the midweek ministry for kids.  The 4-5year old kids are my jam!  Sunday School is one of my favorite hours of the week.

T's busy hands can do so much.  She can eat and do Simon at the same time.  She can remember 17 color combos.
T: I love to do lots of things at once.
Brandon found her like this one morning when he came down to work out at 6am!
T still builds the most incredible and creative LEGO houses!
Brandon caught us trying to lick our elbows!
T helped paint the church basement bathroom.
Buttercup reminded us that he is small, but so very mighty!

Sunshine is just a big guy!  He is as long as the counter is wide!

We still order lots of things from Walmart.com.  If it is big and non-perishable we order it.  Well, for some odd reason the raisin bran was packed in a box with the cat litter bins which resulted in a raisin bran brick!
T: This is not what we were expecting!
Seriously, it was a brick!

This picture is just a funny God sighting and will be a memory.  Our town has switched garbage companies many times while we have lived here.  We were with WM and they were not very into emptying our trash.  On the day the photo was taken they finally took our recycling for the first time in a month!  Happy Day!  We actually sent two huge trash bags of recycling to Charissa's house since she lives in a different town.  Thankfully this fall we switched to a new company, received new cans, and have not had a single late pick up.

Empty trash cans are oddly satisfying!

The fall garden!  She still produces, but she doesn't look as pretty.  Each year it makes me think about aging and how we are still beneficial as we age, but we don't look quite as green.  If you zoom in you can see the green beans and cucumbers continue to have new growth and are growing along and outside of the fence.  Gardens close to the Lake take a while to get started each spring, but once they do, they keep producing well into the fall!
So thankful for fresh produce and craving some now!

A beautiful fall day's harvest
