Fires, Faries, and Friends!

Each September in northern states, adults and kids start to realize that the warm days will not be sticking around.  It causes us to be outside as much as possible just to soak in the warmth while we can.  These picture are from many different days, but there are common themes!

Our dear friends have a hammock that T loves to play with and also loves to push others in.

T: It is a good workout.
T and S have lots of fun in the tree fort.
T: I can't believe these grew from tiny seeds.
So many cherry tomatoes!
T: They are sad that one went down the drain.  Don't worry, we have plenty!

I am not sure if M heard something in school about starting fires with magnifying glass or was reminded of it in a book or some other place, but there were a couple of weeks this fall that he was pretty obsessed with trying to start a fire.
M: It takes a lot of patience and the perfect angle.
M: No fire, but check out the hole!
Working together.
Another day, another attempt.
S, T, and E all came over to make little fairy dwellings.
They climbed up to relax in the fort as well.
Another day, another fire.  He is getting serious now.
FLAMES!!!!!
Attempting to roast marshmallows over the fire.

One Saturday the family played at parks most of the day.  I was working (that is another post) but was able to pop over for some of the fun too.

I would never ride on this thing, but T loves it.
What a cutie!

This summer and fall we were able to host potlucks once again.  We did outdoor only, but had food and games and even a couple of fires.  Everyone enjoyed being together.  Joseph could attract a crowd with Tom and Jerry clips.

M: Joseph always knows the funniest videos.
A dirty van and window, but an incredible Lake view.  We sometimes take a "long cut" through the park to enjoy the view!
After school pick up and these two look focused... but they are really playing games.
