Superbowl Blizzard

After our warm and "brown Christmas" we eventually got a tiny bit of snow.  We received a few small snowfall of an inch or less.  Finally we started hearing about a storm that could really bring some big snow totals.  It was scheduled to arrive on a Sunday which isn't great for church, but nice for school.  The storm did come.  It literally snowed all day.  It also blew!  We received (I think) about ten inches of snow.  It was our only big snow of the season... so far (hopefully we will not get anything to rival that now).  The kids were so eager to help, but the snow at home was so deep.  I had to shovel three times before church just to keep the patch clear so we could get there at the time church started.

Luckily the kids got to do some shoveling at church after the services.  Someone was shoveling most of the morning so there was just a dusting for them to lift.  They enjoyed it.

The Super Bowl was that night.  We usually keep things very low-key so we were not planning much, but decided to set up a card table and eat dinner in the family room to watch the game.  The kids were so excited.  It was so sweet to see their simple joy and to hear them ask if we can do it again next year.

M did have school the next day.  After school we all got on snow gear and played outside.  Since it was a Monday, Brandon could join us too.  It was very cold and windy so T didn't last long, but we all enjoyed the sunshine and fresh air.

We had a neighbor who used a snowblower for our driveway and sidewalk.  We are so thankful for his help.  The snowplow truck plowed all the snow of the street in one direction, to our side.  The piles were HUGE.  It would have taken Brandon most of his day off and most likely a few chiropractor visits to deal with the aftermath.

One great shoveler!

Another great shoveler.

Our casserole in the family room while watching TV!

Fun in the snow!

M: Come on T.  T: Wait, I need to taste the snow first.

Pink is my favorite color!
