Christmas Traditions!

Each year we enjoy some fun traditions around Christmas time. Before Covid we loved caroling at nursing homes, hosting and attending Christmas parties, and Christmas concerts.  This year we were able to do some of what we did in the past, but some will have to wait for future years.  Covid actually brought about some new traditions last year that we continued and enjoyed again this year.

At Lincoln school 4th graders have Kindergarten pals.  The work together to make gingerbread houses.  T must have gotten a bit warm making hers!

T: It was warm in the room, plus I really loved showing off my cami.

The finished product!

This year brought the return of the Christmas parade and fireworks.  It was so much fun to watch with friends and it was especially sweet since we missed it last year.  This is the only photo we took.  Clearly it was a full time job waving, getting candy, and protecting kids from the vehicles.

Cozy coats and twinkle lights!  We love the Christmas parade!

M's favorite from the candy haul!

Last year we did a drive thru light show and a light show at a farm.  The farm one was canceled this year due to an injury, but the park was open and we enjoyed it.  As you can see from the pic, T is in the front seat so that alone made it a special occasion!

Ready to enter the enchanted park!

This year we read the official book one of the advent series.  Last year we read book four.  It was fun to connect the dots between the books and we are already eager to see what will happen in next year's book.

Good book and good snacks!

Snack close up!
School projects done last minute returned!

T: I found some clip on earrings in the craft supplies.

One of my favorite traditions is looking at Christmas lights.  We really enjoyed the hunt this year and found every single thing on our check list in less than 2 hours!
A successful Christmas Light hunt!
