BAHA Magnet Surgery Part Two

T is safely back in surgery as I type.  The monitor on the wall tells us that she is already having the procedure.  They must be ahead of schedule!

She had a very rough time going to sleep last night because she was quite nervous about today.  Buttercup (the wonder cat) helped her to calm down and she was sleeping by about 10:00.

M had a rough night with anxiety and jealousy so I wound up sleeping with him.  Brandon has a cold so he had a rough night too.

I woke T up at 5:45 this morning to have some Jello and a sip of water and take her meds.  She was  in a good mood and tried to go back to sleep.  I went to take a shower and by the time I got out she was up and playing with the cats.

She slept the whole way to Children's.

We were all curious to see all the progress made on the major onsite construction.

T: "Mom, take a pic for M!"
Check in took quite a while.
Waiting in line.  *You can really see her bald spot from her new nervous habit.

Getting in a little Mickey Mouse waiting for check in.

T: I LOVE the heated blanket!

Paw Patrol!

Once we got to the room she was so excited to watch Paw Patrol on TV.  She was glued to it.

She didn't like the taste of the silly juice, but swallowed it like a champ.  The TV continued to mesmerize her.

After being in the room or quite a while it occurred to me that the TV speaker was on a box on right side of the room (her non hearing side).  I asked her if she could hear the TV and she said no.  I asked her if there was sound on and she said no.  Oops.  No wonder she was so fixated on it, she couldn't hear it.  I was able to move the speaker and then she really enjoyed seeing and hearing the show.

We could tell she was getting a bit goofy and very relaxed.  She was fine with saying good bye to us when it was time to go.

Starting to feel goofy!

Making a silly face!
We feel very comfortable with the surgical team and are so thankful to be at Children's.  They will give her cotton candy flavored gas.  They will avoid putting an IV in her "sucking thumb" hand.  "Tired" gets to go to the surgery room with her.  What a special place!

The surgery is scheduled to be about two hours long.  They will update us throughout.

Thank you all for your prayers.  We can feel them.
