BAHA Surgery Part Three

We just spoke with T's Dr.  The surgery was successful.  We have not seen her yet, but I wanted to do a quick post.  She did have to have a bit of hair shaved and has a flap incision.  The implant was set at 3mm deep which I know is how thick her skull is, so I guess it was exactly perfect.

She will come home with a mummy type wrapping around her head that we will keep on for 24 hours.  After that she will wear a special cap thing through Monday and at home after school next week.  She will be wearing the cap at church, so you will notice this if you see her on Sunday.

We have our initial follow up with the Dr next Wednesday (less than a week away)so we will talk then about how long she will have to avoid gym and swimming lessons and biking with helmet etc.

We will be taking it easy this weekend which could be hard for a busy busy girl like our T!

I will try to post pics and more of an update on how she is feeling later this afternoon.

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers.  We have felt them.
