SnOw Much Snow

After having no snow until after Christmas and just a bit of snow in most of January, we had snow storms two weeks in a row at the very end of January.  Each storm dumped about 10 inches of snow with other little snows around that time too.  I loved it all!  During this year without drop offs and pick ups, with zoom therapies and appointments and few evening commitments I welcomed the snow.  It was sometimes hard to get the kids to go out and play in it, but when they did I know they had fun.

Now that we are approaching April, I am very much ready to put winter behind us.  We have now entered the season of spring which I refer to as "winter part two."  I am sure at some point we will have another snow to shovel, but hopefully it will melt quickly and we will continue to move into actual springlike weather.

On January 26th we decided to make some snow runs in the backyard.  It was tricky sledding snow, so we didn't exactly fly down the hill, but we gave it our best effort.

A sea of snow!

Look how deep it was next to the fence.

There she goes!

There he goes!

Buttercup:  I was not impressed with my view!

With all this snow, we decided it was time to invest in a snowblower.  Brandon went to a local True Value and made the purchase.  It might have cost about 3 times more than I imagined, but it is already proving its worth over and over again!  Of course he is now asking why it the world we didn't make this purchase a decade ago!

The drifting outside Brandon's office.

The view from the inside of his office.

Making the first cuts of snow with the blower!

So glad he had it for the heavy/deep stuff at the end of the driveway!

Look how far the snow can fly!
Speaking of flying, check out my adventure girl!

Straight down she goes!

This could end poorly, but thankfully it didn't.

Our piles were taller than a T! Look how buried our tree became.

We had enough snow for Brandon and the kids to make a little snow fort.
