The First Leon 2018

This year the children performed "The First Leon" as our Christmas program.   We had only five practices so the kids had to do a lot of practicing at home.  The did such a great job.  Even though it often felt like it wasn't going to come together, in the end it did.  This is the second year in a row we have done a show and each year we learn more things that will help make the next year more of a success!

Learning blocking.

Practicing songs.

Getting the line up is always a job.

One final practice.

Dress rehearsal!

Dress Rehearsal!

Performance Day!  The show is really a play within a play so in part of the show the kids are in their street clothes and even auditioning for a play!  The children performed twice and we were able to FaceTime with my parents for the first show.  It was fun that they were able to see the show and the kids saw them on the screen watching them and smiled and waved at them.  Almost like having grandparents in the audience.
T: I was getting ready for my big line!

M: I played the part of a cool guy who knows a lot about theater.

Their favorite song... a rap!

In their element.

So sweet!

M: Please Mr. Innkeeper Sir, please can we have a room for the night?

Silent Night!

M: I was Jonathan playing the role of Joseph.

The whole crew!
The directors are on top of things!

During each of the shows the children had to get into costume while the choir sang.  It was quite an operation, but the kids were troopers and we were ready with time to spare!

All lined up and ready to go in!

There were cookies after the show and T had fun hanging out with her buddies M and A.  They all happened to wear the same color shirt, totally unplanned!

T: I love these buddies!

Silly pose!
We are so thankful for a great church family with so many special families with children our kids ages.
