Eight full weeks in the books

We have officially been home from Mexico for over eight weeks! Since I am now caught up on the blog,  I will just share stats in this post and then talk about week 8 in the upcoming posts.

These stats are not fancy, just a little way for me to track the spread and for the kids to read in years to come. There are now 4,256,001 cases in the world.  This is about 610,000 more than last week.  There are 1,385,834 cases in the US which is almost exactly 173,000 more than a week ago.  This is actually an exciting stat because the previous two weeks had 200,000 more cases each week. There were 18,000 cases and 1,000 deaths in the last 24 hours.  This number is down from last week as well.  There have been 287,137 deaths worldwide with 81,795 American lives lost.  The death projections continue to rise higher and higher as more areas are opening up.

We have 10,418 cases in our state, 109 cases in our county, and 9 in our community. Our state had over 2,200 new cases this week. We have had a couple new in our community and over a dozen new in our county.  Over all, our immediate area seems quite stable.

Our state remains under a safer at home order and our family has no plans to go beyond the essential any time in the near future.  We are thankful to be able to get outside, see friends from a distance, and spend time together as a family. We are very blessed.
