Weekend Biking Adventures (Week 8)

On Saturday afternoon the kids and Brandon had another biking adventure.  It was not without incident.  I feel like there is going to be a progression in upcoming posts of greater and greater injuries while biking... and I feel like this because... there is!

The first picture is a fallen tree crossing the path.  The sad reality of this picture is that it is much easier for kids to duck under a tree like this than adults.  Brandon was caught off guard and the sun and his vision didn't help.  He almost completely ran into the tree, but was able to jump off the bike at the last second.  He took quite a fall which I think shook everyone up.  Thankfully he didn't seem to have a concussion and he was able to continue the ride.

I wouldn't want to run into this guy!

Brandon wasn't the only one to take a tumble.  T also slid on some loose dirt and landed sitting on this log.  She seemed to recover well.

T: This fall was a nice place to sit.

Pics like this are treasures to me.

On their Saturday ride they discovered some jumps at the bottom of a hill.  They both enjoyed trying them out.

She's going up!

In the air!!

Here he goes.

Look at that air!!!

Lest you think I could finish this post without mentioning an M fall, do not fear.  M took quite a fall after a jump and it was sort of a slow-motion fall that was in the works for a long time before he came to a stop.

M: It hurt a bit, but I will be OK.
