Calling All Pirates!

Our communiy's Pirate Festival began the first official day of summer vacation.  This festival is very unique as it brings out a very diverse groups of people.  Many people like to dress in the full pirate garb.  It is quite fascinating to experience.  This year the festival was much smaller than usual so we didn't stick around too long, but we did see some interesting things.

Can you spot all five kids?

All in the same photo, a win!!

You don't see this every day!  A ship coming in and pirates waiting for it on land.

Yes friends, we get to live here!

The armed forces had several booths set up.  T was very eager to check them out.  The Marines had a pull up bar challenge and one young man was helping children who wanted to try.  T was lifted up and then proceeded to do about six pull ups on her own.  The man behind her kept saying, "I am not helping her.  She is doing this on her own."  All of the other kids in the group tried it.  Each of them needed help.  I guess that is why T says one of her special talents is "grip." :)

T: This is easy!

M: I tried really hard!
